27

it was my 27th birthday yesterday! i had a great day and got a tidbit spoilt! DMan, his parents, my parents and my sister all pooled some money together and bought me a new laptop! its another HP Pavilion, since i loved my last one, and I love this one. so much much more! DPants even let me open it a day early :)

i had gone down south to visit my parents the weekend before, to see my dad to celebrate fathers day and to have an early bday party with some family. it was great, we had some family over for dinner, and had cake, and i got presents! my mum bought me a beautiful guess hand luggage bag for me to use for a hospital bag when i go and have bub, plus some fancy pretty thongs to wear too. my nanna gave me some really cute slippers, some lovely hand creams and some cash so i can go and buy myself anything i like. i had a great time.

beautiful flowers that mum and dad got delivered to my workplace on my actual bday

amazing hamper from my bestie J! this also got delivered to my workplace and was a huge surprise. but a great one of course! cant wait to devour everything in this box!

us on our dinner date for my birthday. cant believe i didnt actually take any pic of us together! what a fool!

my DELICIOUS pasta dish for my birthday dinner. it had chicken, avocado, mushrooms and cheesey yummy white wine sauce. it was amazing and i ate the whole plate! unfortunately, when it came to dessert, the piece of white chocolate velvet cake that id been eyeing off all night was stale! boo! we handed it back, and didnt get charged for it, but i was still bummed that i didnt get some cake! haha.

peanut update!

so like i mentioned, im 26weeks along now, well over half way and really starting to feel it! bub is moving around so much constantly, but its still exciting and new everytime i feel a little kick or flutter. DPants has been lucky enough to feel a few kicks now too, which is so cool. its so sweet to see his face light up everytime he feels our baby move. i think hes started to get really excited, and the usual mr-cool attitude is starting to slip and make way for a very giddy dad to be!

we've had alot of tests and scans lately, its been a bit full on. but so far everythings come back clear and good. and all signs point to a healthy and happy baby thats growing a at great rate.

im still doing well in terms of morning sickness/pregnancy side effects. still trying to stay away from too much garlic (it gives me the worst acid reflux ever!) and trying my best to eat well and stay active. im getting really big, and have days where i feel like the size of a house and cant find anything to wear (cue pregnancy tantrum and a few tears!) but things are well.

we actually picked up some nursery furniture today, but since its not put together yet, ill share some photos when that happens. starting to slowly plan my baby showers (yes, im having 2) aswell. cant wait!

20 weeks!

big mumma!

look at this little munchkin face! oh my, my heart breaks a little every time i look at this pic! ok, yes im biased, but that is such a great photo, and it looks like he may already have my nose. also yes, the cord is around his neck right now, but ive been assured that its ok at this stage and that hes fine and healthy in there. cant wait to meet him! (pic @ 23weeks)

CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE OUR LITTLE DUDE WITH THIS IN HIS MOUTH!

Nanga 2012

ok so first up, is our annual holiday. ok i say annual, but we've only been two years in a row now, but hey, it counts! so every year (for 2 years) we head up north to a place called Nanga Station in Shark Bay. its an 800km drive away, which we did in about 9 hours with stops. my sister came with us in our car, and pretty much slept the entire way! lucky her! we fished, we laughed, we tanned. it was awesome!

our view from our little holiday shack every day...bliss

first day on the beach, ready to go fishing with dad!

the big beautiful blue. always so clear and lovely.

daniels biggest catch of the week! its a Pink Snapper, which unfortunately youre not allowed to keep in that area, so we catch and release, and just enjoy the fun of it!

my proud dad holidng my biggest catch. (i was too squeemish to hold it myself!)

of course, being in Shark Bay, we also caught sharks! i caught this tiny little "black tip", but again, too squeemish to pose with it! was a cute little thing!

my not so cute fiddler shark! this thing was weird, but fun to catch (and release of course)

the fiddler shark doesnt have teeth and looks super weird from underneath! nevermind my fatty pregnant lady arms!

as i may have mentioned, it was an awesome holiday! cant wait to go again, hopefully we'll make it next year, but by then we'll have a 9 mth old baby and who knows if we'll be up for a 9 hr car drive with him?!?

BACK!

HI!

Is everyone well? I'm great. Things have been so great and busy lately, and like i mentioned, my laptop died and work computer wont let me blog, so thats why ive been missing.

so heres whats been going on lately...

we went away on our annual family holiday with my parents and sister. 9hr drive away and onto the coast and into the sunshine. it was a lovely week away and was so nice to be off from work. we got to go fishing out on my dads boat almost every day, visited to dolphins and had some great relaxing family time.

speaking of family, our bub is still growing! and going very very well. lots of kicking and movement now, since im more then half way through! ive only got about 14 weeks to go, its getting very exciting! but also im getting very nervous.

oh and it was my birthday yesterday! hence finally being able to blog, since i got my new laptop! i had a great birthday despite having to work, and definetly got spoilt by everyone, which is always nice. im 27 now, and it finally feels like everythings coming together. i might actually be becoming a bit of a grown up! shock! but baby, partner and buying a house this year definetly sounds more grown up then before!

ok, so on to some catch up posts & pics! (which ill do seperately coz it just seems easier for me!)

I'm not dead

I'm just super busy. And with my laptop dying on me, getting around to blogging has seemed like a chore rather than a pleasure. But! I'm getting a new laptop for my birthday next week, so I'll be back to it very soon! So much to catch up on! :)

little update...

13 weeks!

so jellybean is starting to look like an actual baby now! which is pretty cool. makes it seem more 'real' (?) or something, i dont know. but it was great to see him/her on friday at my scan. id been going through a weird worry phase where i didnt believe i was actually pregnant, and that maybe when they did my scan nothing would be there. and although my pregnancy wasnt planned at all, id still be heartbroken if it doesnt work out now. we're invested in this and fully excited about everything, so for things not to work out, it would be devastating.
but big sigh of relief, bubs is still in there and everythings looking good according to the nurse who did our scan. it took us about 3 hours to get the measurements and things they needed though, because our little darling was doing a handstand in my belly when we first got there. seriously, just sitting on their head the whole time and refusing to move. it took alot of fake hula hooping and a half an hour walk around the block just to get bub to move it the right position! the supervisor even came in and commented on our 'naughty' baby! oh no, i hope bub grows out of that before theyre born!!
so besides all that, thigns are looking good. normal and healthy and fine. i did worry a little yesterday when my clinic rang and asked me to move my appt with my doc to this week instead of next (whats that about?) but the clerk reassured me that its not because anything was wrong in our tests. i still have a niggly feeling and the burning question of 'why move the appt a week early if nothings wrong?' but im trying to stay calm about it. im trying to be a super calm mumma about all this stuff, but man is it stressful. and the constant worry about money and praticality of having a new baby in our lives is starting to freak me out.
my poor DMan copped it last night when i went into meltdown and overreaction about nothing in particular and spent almost an hour bawling into his jumper while he was trying to cook dinner. i really thought that i wouldnt be that kind of emotional pregnant lady, pffft how naive was i? luckily, hes an awesome guy who just rolls with it and always manages to calm me down and say the right things and doesnt freak out on top of everything. i did ask him how could he be so calm when im such a mess. and he didnt really have an answer. just that he was sure we were ok, and as long as baby stays ok, then everything will work out. which is true, but hard to see sometimes.
we have so much to do and figure out and so much money to spend before this baby comes along, and only 6mths til im due. hes planning on getting a new job, we're going to buy our house (our landlord is selling to us, cheap!) and we need to buy things for this baby and somehow fit it all into our house!

anywho, like i say, im stressing. but im pretty sure that is a normal thing to go through, and im sure we'll make it out of this alive. on a side note, the random weird and sometimes awful pregnancy dreams have started. monday night it was that my dad had died. and my mum didnt call me because she didnt want to 'worry' me, and by the time i got home to see them, she'd already moved all his stuff out of their house! see weird and awful.poor mum got a phonecall immediately yesterday morning to make sure he was ok. of course i was being silly. last night it was that a plane crashed next to me on the beach, but it didnt explode or anything, there wasnt even a scratch on it. and everyone was ok. then i had lunch with lars ulrich (drummer from metallica?!?) and THEN me and daniel had to bring someone (no idea who) back to life by mixing their blood with something (that i still dont even know what it was). i think that part came from watching the first couple of episodes of the new season of True Blood. but who knows. very weird. and making me wake up very confused!

so on the whole, im a very confused, stressed, worried, tired, happy, excited pregnant lady lately. and this post has turned into a bit of an essay. apologies for that. have a great week everyone!

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

hi everyone thats still out there! i know ive been quite absent in the last few weeks, but i do have an explanation, and a pretty good one i think. theres been a new 'developement' in my personal life and i have been resisting the urge to post about it straight away, well because we're still adjusting to the news, i havent informed my workplace yet, and well its still fresh, but ive decided i cannot wait any longer! so for those of you that havent guessed yet, DMan and I are HAVING A BABY! (whoa thats still weird to say(type) out loud!)

We found out a few weeks ago, and I'm about 11.5 weeks along now. Which makes me due around the 19th of December! Hello Christmas Baby! the 19th also coincides with my late grandmothers birthday, so thatd be a nice little way to change what that day means to our family!

But yes, as i mentioned, we're still adjusting to our news. It was something that we had planned for way down the track, once we'd bought a house, gotten engaged and maybe married, and we'd grown up and sorted our lives out a bit, but fate will not have that it seems! so yes, big surprise, not something we're prepared for, but we're still very happy and excited to be having this experience. and besides, who's idea of how their life should go ever really works according to plan anyway?

and as i said before, i have not told my workplace yet. im saving that for when the big boss gets back from holidays (just a week away, i want to tell him first before anyone else since he is the dealer principal) and i havent made a facebook announcement yet either. but i have told my entire family, and all my closest friends, so thats whats important.

so far, everythings been going well. no morning sickness as such, more like evening sickness. but no actual rushing to the bathroom to throw up or anything like that. just a faint nauceous feeling from time to time, but other then that, and my already super expanding chest, everythings been going well. we've had one ultrasound already (see pic below) and seen jellybean's little heart fluttering away. and im scheduled for my 12-13 week scan on the 15th, so hopefully we'll get to hear her/his little heart and see a bit more of a baby shape!

so yes, thats my big news and the reason behind my absence. now we're on to organising our life in 6 mths to prepare for this bub to come along and change everything! (for the better!) DMan is on the hunt for a new, higher paying job, we're sorting out our money so that we can buy our house (we're renting off one of my managers at work, but he wants to sell, and we want to buy = perfect arrangement basically!) and then itll be onto organising all our junk so we can find room for this baby to fit in! we have a 3 bedroom house, but its small with not alot of storage, so im scouring pinterest all day long for storage solutions and nursery ideas!

big exciting scary and nerve wracking times ahead! but we're lookng forward to everything thats about to happen and are very positive about this whole thing. DMan's gone into "man mode" where all hes doing is worrying about money and practical things, like making sure the house is ready and what not. its sweet. and of course, hes doing a great job of taking care of me, even though not alots changed just yet. im not even showing yet!

oh, and for anyone thats curious about how i will deal with having a lapband while pregnant, im actually visiting my specialist next week to discuss what actions need to be taken. but basically, its perfectly safe to carry a baby whilst having a lapband. it doesnt need to be removed or anything. we will need to monitor how "tight" i am, and make sure im eating enough for the two of us to be healthy, but besides that, it will be business as usual. there is no risk to the baby with me having this foreign object in my body, as long as i continue to eat fresh healthy and substantial food. which is great news! and of course, it will help with getting the pregnancy weight off when ive finally had the bub! not that thats the most important thing of course, but it is a bonus!

Everyone meet Baby Edwards!

as you can tell, theres not much to see yet. this was taking around my 9 week mark, so the little thing was only about 2cm long! but he/she's definetly in there and alive and well so far! we're not 100% sure about finding out the sex, DPants really wants to, I'm on the fence about it. My family have made it very clear that they do not want to know, but i dont know if i could hold it in if im gonna know the whole time! but im coming around to the idea, afterall, itll still be a surprise even if we find out early! at least it will help narrow the name list down a bit!!

:D

im back!

well hi there! long time no blog! ive been terrible i know, but things have been a little crazy lately since we got home, and with the work computer network blocking blogger lately, its been really hard to find the time to update.

anywho, lets get to it. our holiday. was in 1 word, awesome. we had a blast. and not in the drink all day - party all night kind of way either. we're just too old for that now! just in that we enjoyed our time together relaxing and having fun. we spaced our week out by doing an "activity" one day, then doing pretty much nothing the next. it was a great way to have a holiday. there were a few times when we were lying around, thinking we SHOULD be doing something exciting, so that we werent being "boring" but honestly, we couldnt be bothered. the whole point of being on this holiday was to chill out and not be busy or tied to a schedule.

our hotel was lovely. it was small, but very well equipped, we even scored a room upgrade! hello king size bed and massive bathroom! it also had a roof top pool and restaurant, which were both awesome and so pretty. it was great to eat breakfast out in the open on our roof top each morning. the pool was so cool. was smallish - but the hotel was small anyways. the staff were so friendly and attentive, you could have barely been slurping the last of your drink before they were there offering you another! perfect!

it was also so close to the main shopping areas, and all the places i visited last time i was there. which was great, because i could find my way around without too much trouble. (ok we did get lost on our first night, and i may have had a small panic attack about it, but we found a taxi to take us home, and as it turned out, we were only 1 street away from the hotel! doh!!)

our activities were fun too. we spent an entire day at the safari park, after purchasing a package from our tour guide. our package included a trip on the safari bus throughout the entire complex visiting all the animals, lunch at a restaurant thats situation right with the lions (he was watching us eat! but barely moved!!) we got our photo taken with a lion cub, watched the white tiger feeding, and then the best part of the day - we rode an elephant! it was so cool! i was nervous and not sure that i wanted to do it, but so glad we did. it was so much fun. we got a nice photo of us on the elephant printed too. it was such a great day. super hot though, so lucky the place had its own water park for us to cool off at. it was a nice big pool set away from all the animals that had two smallish water slides. we had such a great day.

after a rest day, we then spent a whole day at Waterbom Park. this water theme park is so much fun. theres heaps of rides,  thrill seeking ones and plain old boring lazy rivers. (which we both secretly loved, and probably spent more time in there then anywhere else!) the only downfall to that place though was all the freakin stairs! of course you expect stairs when youre climbing to the top of water slides, but man were we sick of them by the end of the day! and our calves were killing us for days afterwards!

we also booked ourselves a lovely sunset dinner cruise for our second last night. that was great. being out on the boat at sunset sipping cocktails. that included a buffet dinner and caberet show (which included an awesome drag show!) that was a great way to end our holiday.

and i wish it had ended there in a way, because the last day and night i was terribly sick and dehydrated and could barely walk around for 10 mins without fainting! and yes i did actually manage to faint on the floor of a pub and out the front of a shop! very embarrassing!! poor Dman! but i managed to keep it together until we got home and once home, i felt a bit better and thought i could avoid going to hospital. but no, by around 10pm it was very clear that i was sick and needed help. DMan bundled me up and took me off to the emergency dept.

dont worry, it was nothing to panic over. my lapband had been playing up for a few days, and after a couple of days of constant vomiting everything i ate or drink, i managed to lose 4 kgs and become extrememly dehydrated to the point of having a fever and not being able to walk properly. it was terrible. the people at the ed were great, cept as soon as they noticed my fever, and heard that id been to bali, they went into a bit of a panic that i might have some strange disease, so decided to keep me over night. definetly not what i wanted! but once i finally got a bed (at 2am!) i managed to drink a bunch of water and get some sleep. in the morning i managed to eat a full breakfast and keep it all down! D came and picked me up and take me home. luckily we both had a few more days off work to recover.

so thats our trip in a nutshell! now onto some photos!
